Each year, hundreds of thousands of people grow out their facial hair during the month of November, but why? November is Movember for prostate cancer awareness! The act of growing out your facial hair in spreading awareness for prostate cancer makes you a walking billboard for the cause.
Since the Movember Foundation commenced, over $559 million has been raised to support those affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health issues. The Movember Foundation runs campaigns in 21 countries, but support can be seen in all corners of the globe.
If you want to support Movember and the prostate cancer awareness movement, simply do not shave each year during the month of November and encourage others to do the same. You can also post pictures of the growing phase of your mustache for each day of November to stir conversation and encourage others to participate in this fun way of spreading awareness.
